Wow, such wonderful news!

I will be so interested to read about your journey. Mine has turned out to be quite out of the ordinary and challenging in all possible ways ~ but a journey nevertheless.

I remember when you got Albert and Isaac. Enjoyed hearing the stories over the years and hope you find peace in the fact that you did all you could to give him a good life and peaceful parting.

Mark, it had to be hard to write this. Thank you for doing so. I've had many furry friends who have shared their lives with me. It's always hard to lose one of them. May your memories give you comfort.

Just wanted to tell you that there have been a few brave souls before you that have worn both hats and survived :) I have been both a back-home and sgl leader, but not at the same time, and have always stood in awe at those that could do both at once.

It's actually a really important role because you are able to provide (sometimes invaluable) feedback from your back-home group to the sgl group. It will be hectic; it will be exhausting; but oh so rewarding.

Galen,

How do you measure repentance? The candidate's verbal statement? Past practice?

I can easily see a situation where an examining body chooses not to believe a candidate's statement of repentance based on prior practice. I can also see a situation where a person claims to be repentant but then repeats past behavior.

I think you meant that it's the failure to apply G-6.0106a or perhaps G-6.0108 to other behaviors. 06b is very specific to sexual practice. That's the problem - we codify one "sin" as absolutely unacceptable but not others. That's discrimination in my mind.
