{"id":1211,"date":"2009-05-02T13:41:34","date_gmt":"2009-05-02T18:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marktime.org\/?p=1211"},"modified":"2009-05-02T13:41:34","modified_gmt":"2009-05-02T18:41:34","slug":"40-prayers-of-hope-and-gratitude-for-bruce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marktime.org\/?p=1211","title":{"rendered":"40 Prayers of Hope and Gratitude, for Bruce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow is the birthday of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reyes-chow.com\/\">Bruce Reyes-Chow<\/a>, a friend and currently the moderator of the PC(USA).\u00a0 On his blog, he asks for some very charitable birthday &#8220;gifts&#8221; to him.\u00a0 One of them is &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reyes-chow.com\/2009\/05\/40th-birthday.html\">a list of prayers for 40 things for which you are grateful, gives you hope or are in need of God&#8217;s healing<\/a>&#8220;.\u00a0 (Besides &#8211; he needs a little love.\u00a0 The first comment on the post attacked him for a position of faith and politics &#8211; on a post related to his birthday!)<\/p>\n<p>I can do that.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>For my wife, who I am VERY grateful for.<\/li>\n<li>For my family (parents and siblings) and the relationship that we have that didn&#8217;t look too likely for a while.<\/li>\n<li>For Barbara, Jill and Kathy &#8211; former co-workers who are being very supportive during my career transition.<\/li>\n<li>For the youth group at my church.\u00a0 I am both grateful for them, and they give me hope.\u00a0 Some of them need your prayers for healing.<\/li>\n<li>For the horde of Twitterati who follow my every tweeted move, give me music when I need it, give me information when I need it, and entertain me.<\/li>\n<li>For Rich, Jeremiah, Jill, Gooitzen, Elsa, Aaron and others from my church family who are being very supportive during my career transition.<\/li>\n<li>For the many recent and near-future seminary graduates that I interact with, who are both a source of hope and in need of prayers to find their destinations.<\/li>\n<li>For S (who will remain otherwise nameless here but I&#8217;m sure is reading this), for being\/assisting my sense of call and helping me to explain my Montreat experience.\u00a0 You know who you are.<\/li>\n<li>For the children in my neighborhood, who remind me of the relative importance of parts of life.<\/li>\n<li>For healing for those on all sides who have been hurt by the whole Amendment B business.<\/li>\n<li>For my cats.\u00a0 Gratitude for them being there for me and entertaining me.\u00a0 Hope that they radiate (particularly when it&#8217;s snack time).\u00a0 Healing for both as they age and begin to suffer the effects.<\/li>\n<li>Hope from the members of my church&#8217;s confirmation class, who were able to teach parts of the lesson that I was teaching.<\/li>\n<li>Healing for two youth workers waiting for transplants.<\/li>\n<li>Gratitude for those who have let me put my skills to work for them while I&#8217;m seeking a job.<\/li>\n<li>Gratitude for my sister whose birthday is today (sharing it with Bruce&#8217;s &#8220;Middle&#8221; child).<\/li>\n<li>Healing for everybody else hurt by the economy.<\/li>\n<li>Healing for everybody else hurt by greed.<\/li>\n<li>Hope and healing for those with obstacles between them and what God is calling them to.<\/li>\n<li>Healing for those affected by<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\"> swine flu<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">Hamthrax<\/span> H1N1 and gratitude that it is turning out to be mild for most.<\/li>\n<p><span id=\"d92da8d27\">If it is of a mild nature and has a habit  <a href=\"http:\/\/downtownsault.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/04-13-16-DDA-MINUTES.pdf\">levitra cheap online<\/a> of giving of themselves or making themselves vulnerable is another category of affected trust.
