{"id":267,"date":"2006-10-27T11:11:03","date_gmt":"2006-10-27T16:11:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marktime.org\/?p=267"},"modified":"2009-01-22T14:36:17","modified_gmt":"2009-01-22T19:36:17","slug":"nj-gay-activists-pause-while-youre-ahead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marktime.org\/?p=267","title":{"rendered":"NJ Gay Activists &#8211; Pause While You&#8217;re Ahead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gays and lesbians in NJ are celebrating the Supreme Court decision on Wednesday that will eventually give them the right to marry or enter an equivalent union.\u00a0 However, some don&#8217;t believe that the decision goes far enough.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/today.reuters.com\/news\/articlenews.aspx?type=domesticNews&amp;storyID=2006-10-26T190031Z_01_N26369166_RTRUKOC_0_US-RIGHTS-GAYS.xml&amp;WTmodLoc=NewsHome-C3-domesticNews-2\">this article<\/a>, Steven Goldstein (the head of Garden State Equality) is quoted as saying that he will continue to fight for the term marriage to apply to gays and lesbians until there is &#8220;blood on these knuckles&#8221;.\u00a0 He continues:\u00a0 &#8220;We will outwork, outplay, outthink and demolish the other side&#8221;.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/eqfed.org\/gse\/notice-description.tcl?newsletter_id=3751803\">Garden State Equality<\/a> website says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Those who would view today&#8217;s Supreme Court ruling as a victory for same-sex couples are dead wrong.\u00a0 So help us God, New Jersey&#8217;s LGBTI community and our millions of straight allies will settle for nothing less than 100% marriage equality.\u00a0 Let decision makers from Morristown to Moorestown, from Maplewood to Maple Shade, recognize that fundamental fact right now.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>My day job is that of an IT Project Manager.\u00a0 In both my college days and in the years since, I&#8217;ve received training in change management.\u00a0 One fundamental principle of change management is that you must leave those impacted by the change enough time to process the change and make it a part of their world view.\u00a0 Attempting to force a change upon masses who may not agree with the change in a short period of time by fiat is a bad idea &#8211; the change is doomed to be actively resisted at best and to fail at worst.\u00a0 The bigger the change, the bigger the amount of time required to process it.\u00a0 Any attempt to force change to happen faster merely causes a backlash against that change.\u00a0 In the workplace that results in passive and aggressive behavior:\u00a0 refusing to use the new process, intentionally working slowly to punish those forcing the change, excessive sick days, negative comments passed behind the backs of those making the change, etc.\u00a0 In society, imagine failure to recognize the change as the best case, with actual violence as the worst case.<\/p>\n<p>When a minority (numerically) wins a victory over the majority, they must behave as a good winner.\u00a0 That means acknowledging the loser&#8217;s value even though they have not triumphed, and choosing not to emphasize the loser&#8217;s attributes\/mistakes\/ability.\u00a0 &#8220;Yay, we won!&#8221; not &#8220;Yay, you lost!&#8221;\u00a0 Then, the losers need to be given space to grieve for their loss and incorporate the new reality into their worldview.\u00a0 Pressing for the next concession immediately is only going to infuriate those who are already wounded by the decision.\u00a0 That puts them in fight or flight mode, and with societal change flight isn&#8217;t really a possibility.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"p59b8758d2b\">It boosts erection quality and helps to maintain stiffness of the male organ for complete lovemaking act to satisfy your female in bed.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.learningworksca.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/018-USC-Rossier-How-Are-Assessment-and-Placement-Policies-for-Dev-Math-Designed-and-Implemented.pdf\">tadalafil 20mg india<\/a> Nowadays, the effective solutions are becoming affordable too as the related agencies are taking steps to make their assistance affordable for reaching to more number order levitra online <a href=\"http:\/\/www.learningworksca.org\/whats-completion-got-to-do-with-it-using-course-taking-behavior-to-understand-community-college-success\/\">learningworksca.org<\/a> of clients.
