Here are my five:

1.  Jesus’ main message was love – Love for God, Love for Each Other.  This message drives everything else.

2.  Jesus spent much of his time working amongst the “least of these”.  I’m a big fan of the underdog (as I said here).

    Harry Chase. I am with you on your five, and thank you for all your blog thoughts. It would be good to catch up with a longer e-mail.

    4. Wow! Folks, a little introduction.

    Katherine Cunningham was the assistant pastor who was literally my backyard neighbor. You see, in Tenafly the Assistant Pastor’s manse was around the corner from my parents’ house and had a long skinny backyard. It intersected our backyard. We were good enough friends with Katherine and her husband that we installed steps in the little hill behind our property line and a gate in our back fence to make it easier to visit. It was very common to have one family show up at the kitchen backdoor of the other house in the evening. (When Mom and Dad sold the house the steps were still there but hadn’t been used for years)

    Katherine’s name is in the front of the Bible that I still use today. It has many miles on it, including trips to Camp Johnsonburg and to Synod meetings.

    I am so glad to hear from you, and I do look forward to continuing to catch up in e-mail!
